A Time For Gratitude

Gratitude comes in many ways. I know I just talked about this (in my last note to you) but it’s one of those things that I strive to carry with me.  I have spent a lot of time, exercising my choice to be thankful. I sincerely, try to find the good in difficult situations and make myself continue to grow.

Gratitude defined is the “the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.”

I am thankful for the freedom and liberty that I experience here in Canada. I am so grateful that people fought so that I can enjoy liberty and peace.  There’s so much one can say about this.. stories that could be told.. sacrifices that were made.  I cannot know what it felt like being at war or being the one at home while friends and family were defending our great nation.  What I do know, is I am forever grateful and I hold the sacrifice in high regard.  As a Canadian, I am who I am today because of men and women that secured freedom and peace for me.

Christmas is coming to Decades, however we will be pausing our plans to remember. We honour our veterans and those who secured Peace for us. We’ll be closed Sunday and Monday this weekend and Tuesday will be Christmas!  Also, if you’re looking for awesome things to do next weekend, plan to spend some time with us!  We’ll be hosting a Christmas market with awesome local Vendors.  Tell you more about that next week!

I hope you take some time this weekend to REMEMBER and be Grateful. I’m not sure where everyone comes from.. some individuals are merely visiting Canada, some are residents of Canada, some are immigrants or perhaps refugees from other lands. However you find yourself this weekend, you are on Canadian soil that embraces freedom that was paid for by brave men and women in war. “The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness” should be on our mind and in our actions, especially this weekend.
